The second mohair sale of the 2021 winter season took place in Port Elizabeth on 7 September 2021, with 157 065kg on offer of which 98% was sold.

The offering consisted of good-quality mohair, of which 76% was Responsible Mohair Standard (RMS) certified. This attracted good competition between the buying houses.

The rand again traded stronger than the previous mohair sale. However, it did not stop the average market indicator from increasing by 4% (increasing by 7% in dollar terms) from the previous sale, to close at R418,66/kg.

A highest price of R970/kg was paid for a bale of 25 micron superstyle RMS-certified kid mohair.

The third mohair sale of the 2021 winter season will take place on 28 September 2021. – Press release, Mohair SA
