Hurwitz Farming recently held their fifth production auction at the Bull Ring in Davel. The most expensive lot was lot 31, a Boran bull named Jameson that was sold for R500 000 to president Cyril Ramaphosa from Ntaba Nyoni.

  • Second highest price bull: Lot 36 – R140 000 sold to Jaco van der Walt from Waltkon Vleis in Naboomspruit.
  • Highest price in-calf heifer: Lot 14 – R170 000 sold to Liz Reilly from Impofu Ranching in Swaziland.
  • Highest price for cow and calf: Lot 30 – R130 000 also sold to Liz Reilly from Impofu Raching.

The average price for in-calf heifers was R55 444 and cow and calf was R70 000. The auction was held by Vleissentraal Ermelo and the auctioneer was Johan van der Nest. – Press release, Vleissentraal Ermelo.
