On 28 November 2018, Klein Karoo Seed Marketing (also known as K2 Seed Marketing) hosted their first farmers’ day as Nuvance. This follows the recent launch of Nuvance as a new subsidiary of K2 Seed Marketing earlier in November. Nuvance will specialise in vegetable seeds and break away from K2 Seed Marketing that will continue their focus on pasture seeds.

The farmers’ day was attended by farmers, seedling growers and agricultural media and was hosted at the Nuvance trail farm in Brits. Those that attended could walk through the vegetable fields to learn more about the various cultivars currently available. Various cultivars for spinach, cabbage, kale, lettuce, brinjals, tomatoes, beans, pumpkins, squashes, beets, melons, watermelons, carrots, peppers, chillies and sweet corn were sighted.

K2 Seed Marketing was established in 1990. The company originally branched out from its parent company, Klein Karoo Co-Op that played an important role in establishing ostrich products internationally. –Ursula Human, AgriOrbit
