The mohair market remained unchanged on the penultimate sale of the 2018 summer season compared to the previous sale. The market was well supported by the top quality Zegna and Miyuki clips, especially the kid mohair, which was on offer. These clips attracted good competition from all the buying houses.

The Rand weakened with 0.4% against the American Dollar and traded at R12.59. The average market indicator remained unchanged on R280.57 while average prices for kid mohair closed 3.3% dearer at R411.18/kg. Average mohair prices of young goats were unchanged on R316.54/kg. Average prices of fine and strong adult mohair closed unchanged and traded at R287.85/kg and R275.08/kg respectively.
