With the cutting of the ribbon and the cake, TMS was officially launched in South Africa. Performing these formalities were Kobus Steenekamp, CEO Monsanto SA, Faizel Ebrahim, Customer Care Lead Monsanto SA and Cari Pillay, HR Monsanto SA.

Monsanto South Africa launched the Transport Management System (TMS) project on Monday 11 June 2018 at the Raceway plant in Gosforth Park.

TMS is a web-based solution that is used to plan, execute, manage and monitor the entire transportation execution lifecycle across all modes of transport.

This is another significant milestone for the Monsanto SA supply chain team in their quest to deliver superior customer experience and drive operational excellence. The TMS platform would enable faster lead times, better utilization levels, faster payments to vendors and improved visibility to Monsanto customers.

The Monsanto SA Customer Care team has been involved in several key projects during the last couple of years in order to continue on the journey of providing superior customer experiences. TMS is another significant initiative aiming to enhance the customer’s experience right through from the ordering to the delivery of products.

According to Bonolo Molewa, TMS change manager, Monsanto SA, the team was eager to embrace the system. “Resilience is a key attribute to embracing change and to remaining committed to the process. Strengthening this resilience has come at a time during which our company is going through changes. The logistics team has been eager to learn and has shown such pride in wanting to master the system.”
