Sernick Bonsmara, one of the divisions of the Sernick Group, hosted its 41st production auction on Friday, 7 June 2019.
The bull that fetched the highest price at auction was Lot 5 which sold for a hefty R700 000. The bull was bought by Norman Adami from Nyumbu Game. The average across the 57 bulls on offer was R104 825, which represents a R3 465 increase from 2018. The average for other years were R93 000 in 2017, R66 800 in 2016, R42 000 in 2015 and R38 000 in 2014.

Johan van der Nest handled the auction for the 36th time. The auction was widely attended with 164 registered buyers from as far as the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and even Namibia. – Press release
