The minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza, has announced the extension of the validity period for the COVID-19 agricultural relief fund vouchers issued to farmers for the collection of inputs from approved suppliers across the country. The vouchers, which were due to expire at the end of this month, will now be valid until 31 July 2020.
The minister’s decision to extend the validity period is aimed at ensuring that farmers and suppliers transact successfully without time pressures, and that suppliers make enough stock available. To this end, the department is in constant communication with all the appointed suppliers to ensure stock availability. – Press release, Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development
