As a researcher and scientist, dr Cobus Oosthuizen is passionate about proving advertisement claims wrong. He recently took on the wool industry to put the claims made by advertisers of wool products to the test. To do this he tested a wool shirt during a 250-km running race for 6 days through the South African desert. The claims about wool that he wanted to test included that wool was soft, elastic, durable, cool when it is hot, warm when it is cold, breathable, UV protective, and odour resistant. To his surprise  dr Oosthuizen could check most of the boxes for the above statements. Cobus talked about his experience with wool at the recent IWTO Wool Round Table in South Africa. Elisabeth van Delden has made a record of his talk available on her website. Click here to listen to the podcast.Ursula Human, Stockfarm
